Biography: Im Yoona was born in Seoul, South Korean. She was trained in the areas of acting, singing, and dancing for five years under S.M. Entertainment along other trainees. She graduated from Daeyoong High School and graduated with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the College of Arts, Dongguk University, majoring in theater and music along with fellow member, Seohyun.

Career/Works: As part of Girls' Generation, she has released a debut single, five full albums, four mini-albums (EPs), three Japanese full album, 29 singles in total, including 1 American single and 1 American Maxi-single. As an actress, she has received numerous acting awards and has acted in several Korean dramas, such as 9 Ends, 2 Outs and You Are My Destiny. In 2011, she was casted in a lead role alongside Jang Geun-suk in the drama, Love Rain (also known as Love Rides The Rain). She followed with performance in the drama Prime Minister & I which also starred Lee Beom-soo. She will be seen for the first time in the Big Screen alongside Hyun Bin in the movie tentatively named Cooperation. Even before she debuted with Girls' Generation, YoonA was well known in the entertainment industry because of various modelling and endorsements she did for various magazines when she was still a trainee. Apart from the many Girls' Generation's commercial films, YoonA is currently endorsing Innisfree Cosmetics, Ciba Vision FreshLook & Dallies and French brand EIDER with Lee Min Ho.

Trivia: YoonA is considered as both the visual of the group (face of the group) and as their center, which is also acknowledged by her fellow members, especially by the leader of their group, Taeyeon, and by the general Korean public. She made her debut as an actress in the 2007 Korean drama, 9 Ends 2 Outs. She is the girl on the cover of Girls' Generation's 2nd Repackaged/Compilation Album: Run Devil Run. YoonA has reputedly been to more than 200 auditions in the hopes of being cast in a CF or drama before she debuted.
